I'm going Friends Only as of today because I feel an increasing need for privacy here. Don't let that scare you away, though, I'm a friendly person and will probably add you if you ask.

In Your Dreams, Mr. Darcy [
UPDATED >> Monday 06/15/09 @ 11:40 pm
[ mood | silly ]

So tonight I dreamt that I was at a party and Colin Firth kept following me around because he wanted to make out with me. All A-okay there! Except that I was constantly avoiding him to go off in search of another guy I know, but never wanted to make out with. In conclusion: Dear subconcious, go die in a fire. You made me walk away from makeouts with Mr. Darcy. I may never, ever forgive you.

This has been an update form Ingridland, the country of crazy and writing.

Also: This may be my favourite QC ever and I totally have the last panel as my desktop background.

Dear Ingrid,

I'm emailing you on behalf of Professor Rebecca Stott (the Creative
Writing Admissions tutor), who has asked me to contact you to say how
impressed she was with your creative writing samples. We are offering
you a place on the course, and this will be communicated to UCAS over
the next few days - congratulations! We are rarely asked to personally
contact an applicant who has submitted outstanding work. Rebecca was
extremely impressed with your application and your writing and very much
hopes that you will consider coming to UEA next September.

If you have any questions you want to ask about the course at UEA do not
hesitate to get in touch with us.

Best wishes and congratulations again,

Sarah Park

Basically, East Anglia has the best creative writing course in all of UK. Like, Ian McEwan and Tracy Chevalier and lots of other writers have attended it.

"The Seeker"? [
UPDATED >> Wednesday 10/03/07 @ 3:37 pm
[ mood | annoyed ]

Please don't see this movie.

cleolinda explains why.

The author isn't too thrilled either, which is easy to understand considering the changes made.

So basically, I'm desperately hoping this movie will crash and burn. I and many others have loved these books for many years, and I seeing the list of changes made makes me feel kind of sick and very pissed off. I don't know if any of you have a relationship to them, but if you don't, I definitely recommend them.

So, to conclude, the trailer looks like absolute shit. And I'm not saying that just because I love the book, but because it seems like the director tried to make a mix of Harry Potter and Eragon. And it, well, isn't.

Another year over [
UPDATED >> Sunday 12/31/06 @ 4:42 pm
2006 as seen by Ingrid:

January: Whoa. So far back. Did anything happen at all? Can't remember it. Except I bought my laptop, yay!
February: Applied for school. Had a boring life.
March: Continued to have a boring life. Apparently, nothing happened which probably means I need to get out more.
April: Wrote 15,000 words for April Fools. Interviewed for UWC and got accepted into the Norwegian school, causing me to have a mental breakdown of OMGWTF SHOULD I DO? Decided to say yes, and I don't regret it.
May: Parents announced that they were getting divorced.
June: And once again, nothing happened. I had an English exam and got an A, along with overall good grades at school. Not that they'll count for anything later, though.
July: Lillemor was hit by a car. I worked as a telemarketer. Well, at least the weather was nice.
August: Started school, majorly freaked out.
September: Heh, I can hardly remember September. I was probably too busy being scared, trying to get new friends and having a hopeless crush on a guy who turned out to be gay. GO ME.
October: School stuff. Got a boyfriend.
November: Went home for a week, which was great. Then got dumped (although that turned out to be just as well)and failed NaNo with about 20,000 words. Started neglecting LJ a bit because I suck. Strangely enough, this was a pretty good month.
December: YAY WINTER BREAK! Turned 17, celebrated Christmas and was generally lazy. Then went to visit my grandparents and am still there. Which brings me to:

2006 was a good year overall. Here's to 2007 being even better.

- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you. [Note: Your home address is not required!]

- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.

- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call. There are no guarantees with this project, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

Sequel info [
UPDATED >> Tuesday 12/20/05 @ 12:35 pm
[ mood | accomplished ]

So, I´m about to upload the last chapter of `You Make Me Beautiful´. I´m bloody proud of myself right now, the chapter is good, I´m sure of it. Hopefully other people will think so too.
Anyway, I thought I´d write a bit about the sequel to my story. I´m really looking forward to starting it.

All right, here´s a few random infos:
- The title of the sequel will (probably) be `Tastes Like Rain´, and it will be betaed by the amazing Jagged_Epiphany.
- Adrian Pucey will appear again, this time playing a larger role in the plot
- Someone will break up
- Someone will kiss Oliver
- Someone will be cursed (no, there´s no prize for guessing who)

The plot is a bit hazy to me right now, but I have the basics outlined, so I think I´ll start posting it sometime in January.
